Ingredients
- 1 large flour tortilla
- 1 cup of your preferred cheese - grated not sliced.
- 1 small cube of butter (approximately 2cm x 2cm x 2cm)
Method
Warm the Tortilla:
Place the flour tortilla in a skillet over medium-low heat. Let one side warm, then flip it to gently heat the other side.
Add the Cheese:
Sprinkle the cheese over one half of the tortilla. Allow the side now facing down to warm slightly.
Fold the Tortilla:
Fold the tortilla in half over the cheese, creating a half-moon shape.
Add Butter & Crisp:
Add a small knob of butter to the pan — it will sizzle. Tilt the skillet to coat the tortilla, flip, and do the same to the other side.
Flip Until Golden:
Keep flipping the quesadilla gently until the tortilla is crisp and golden, and the cheese inside is fully melted and oozing.
Serve:
Remove from the skillet and serve immediately with Chimichecas Salsa Verde.
